Summer 2026: Light & Salt in La Victoire
Dear Friends and Partners in Mission,
It has been some time since our last update, and we are grateful for this opportunity to reconnect. Despite the challenging narratives often shared on social media regarding the current state of Haiti, we write to share how God continues to move powerfully through our work in La Victoire. Our family remains committed to being "light and salt" in Haiti, operating through four strategic pillars: Education, Healthcare, Sustainable Agriculture, and Church Planting.
We firmly believe that in times of national hardship, our service must not diminish; rather, it is a season to multiply our efforts. The resilience of the Haitian people continues to inspire us. Witnessing their joy in service and their unwavering faith in Jesus even amidst food insecurity and housing instability is a profound testament to the human spirit. It is a privilege for our family to serve as a bridge between your generosity and this resilient nation.

Ministry Updates and Milestones
While our communication may be infrequent, it is because we are deeply immersed in the field. Evens travels to Haiti every two months to oversee direct ministry operations, while Karina maintains full-time employment to support the family and care for the children, ensuring our mission remains sustainable.
The Month of May has been Transformative
-
Agricultural Celebration (May 1st): We recently hosted a day of celebration for thousands of local farmers. These individuals are often the most marginalized, yet they are the backbone of our country's food supply. We provided a festive meal and words of spiritual encouragement to honor their vital labor.
-
Haitian Flag Day (May 18th): Our students will participate in a city-wide parade in La Victoire, celebrating our cultural heritage and community pride.
-
Academic Milestones: We are preparing for Teachers’ Day (May 17th) and our upcoming Commencement Ceremonies (May 29th) for both our Kindergarten and High School graduates.
A Holistic Approach to Healing
Our ministry utilizes a holistic model to bring Christ’s hope and healing to the region. Currently, our impact includes:
-
Education: Serving approximately 600 students across three distinct campuses.
-
Evangelism: Managing one church body across three different locations.
-
Community Development: Partnering with over 35 communities to provide training in agro-ecology, livestock management, and food security.
-
Nutritional Support: Our goat production program (providing both meat and milk) remains a critical tool in our ongoing fight against local malnutrition and economic barriers in Haiti.
Foundation of Faith
In moments of uncertainty, when we reflect on the sacrifices our family makes, we are often reminded of Micah 6:8:
"He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God."
This scripture serves as our shield and our mandate. It reminds us that our calling to the families of La Victoire is rooted in the greatness of Jesus Christ.
Thank you for your sacrificial prayers and financial support. Your partnerships allow us to continue this vital service. May the Lord Jesus Christ continue to keep and bless you.
Pray for us as we Pray for you
We appreciate your continued prayers as we navigate the challenges in Haiti. It is not lost on us how your prayers and support have allowed us to continue this mission to serve La Victoire in the love of Christ. Please know that we appreciate each and every one of you!
In Grace,
The Paul Family
