Urgent Update from Evens and Karina
Dear Mission Friends and Supporters,
It has been a couple of weeks since our family has returned home to continue our service within the community of La Victoire, Haiti. As most of you know, Haiti hasn’t been at its best lately. It has been a challenging year and life is not easy because of unrest and a huge political crisis that been affecting Haiti for a long period of time, things continue to be difficult for the people of Haiti.
This crisis affects everyone including seniors and children. As all of you are aware, we are here to serve God and to partner with the people of La Victoire, we could not just sit down and rest while others are really struggling to even make it daily. A great number of friends and family have asked how they could partner with us to make life a bit easier for our community. Here is what God has put in our hearts to do in this season of hardship with the families living in La Victoire:
-
We want to provide some sort of assistance and encouragement to 150 families living in really hard conditions of life. Especially the elderly who are widows and cannot provide anything for themselves.
-
We want to assist 100 families with school kits so that parents of need can have an opportunity to send their children to school on time. School opens in the next two weeks and hopefully we can help in that sense.
To conduct these two activities, we are in an urgent need to raise around $10,000. The money will provide the supplies needed. We know this is a BIG ask. But it truly is an emergency. People lack resources to function daily.
If you would like to give, go to the SAI website and donate or you can send money to us directly through MoneyGram. When you send donation, please let us know so that we can begin the process of getting the cash out as soon as possible by connecting with the bank’s directors here in Haiti.
