February 2022 Ministry Update
Dear Mission Friends and Supporters,
Happy New year to all of you our Mission Friends for Haiti. What a year it has been for all of us. We are already in February and despite all the different struggles that we are facing within Haiti, God’s love and faithfulness remain idem. We understand there are a lot of things that you might hear regarding Haiti, despite that all you hear regarding the country of Haiti, we want to remind you that the love of the people, the faith and the resilient of the families within the country remain strong and stronger than ever before.
One week ago, I had the opportunity of visiting our ministry in Haiti in a difficult circumstance. One of my little cousins of 20 years old has passed and my uncle requested from me to celebrate the funeral service for his daughter. Despite the difficult circumstance, I was able to visit our whole ministry area while I was there. It has been a hard month for our whole family but despite everything, we can say that God has been and continues to be faithful to us while we are serving Christ together in Haiti. We hope and pray that it has been the same for you and your family members as well.
Medical Clinic Finished!
Most of you are aware it has been two years since we have embarqued in a journey of building a health center facility within Lospinite, La Victoire Community. Today we can say praise God that our health center is finished and has been opened to the whole La Victoire community and its surrounding area for these past two weeks. We are very thankful to all of you that have join hands together with us to make this dream becomes a reality for our community. We learn that when we put our minds and hands together for Christ kingdom, we partake with God in the transforming journey that He is doing within the world.
Through the health center, we will be able to provide to the community dental service, maternity service, general family health service. We began to equip our pharmacy area with some of the common medicines needed within the community and we are looking forward to strengthening the pharmacy soon. Our medical staff is composed of a dentist, a medical doctor, a pharmacist, a lab technician and a security guard. Most of the staff members are in a part time basis because we are not able to pay them full time yet. Except the pharmacist, in case someone needs to purchase medicine in an emergency.
Our whole community is excited to have within the area such service which didn’t exist at all within the La Victoire area. We are looking forward to witnessing the ways God will bless His children throughout this medical Health Center.
Here, you can see Ricardo - a graduate of our High School - use his skills to help us install the X-Ray machine and dental chair with the assistance of a dentist. These are now installed and ready to serve the people!
Your Support Needed For New Primary & High School Building
Through both the High School and Primary school, we continue to impact our whole community in the education field. As you might already know, we have been renting an unreliable space for our high schoolers since we start the High School. We are thankful to God and to all of you that have join hands with us so that we can begin the process of building a new facility for our high schoolers and which will serve as a trading school facility as well. We are looking to break ground on this new facility construction project within the month of March 2022. There is still time and opportunity for you to join us if you can.
Our goal this year is for both the Primary and the High School students to be in the same compound. Therefore, building a second story in the primary section will be ideal to host both our High schoolers and the student within the Elementary section. We are excited to see this plan unfold, and we are looking to seeing the ways that God will continue to use all of us together to continue to empower and transforming the lives of these children and the youths for God’s glory.
We are looking to engage the student within both grades in the field of food production, Animal’s production, Agro-Ecology by knowing the importance of protecting the environment and teach them different horticultural practice so that they can continue to be practicing these skills even while being at home.
Community Development Program
When it comes to the community Development program which is a big part of our ministry, God continues to use this program amazingly within the 7 different communities where we serve 90 families through goats’ production, 50 small busness women in Business activity, and a seed bank within the community to help us balance the local price for food availability within the local market. We already received 25 goats back which allow us to pass these females goats as a gift to other family in different community. We decide this year to integrate strongly agricultural practice and animals’ production, agro-Ecology as the way where the student could learn and engage in the importance of our environment as a part of our curriculum.
New Power System for Clinic!
We are grateful to the Park’s family that has blessed our community health Center with a brand-new generator and solar panel system to power our medical Health Center. We already purchase the generator, which is a 11 KW Kubota, Diesel generator which will help us power the materials that need electricity for them to function. Truly we are amazed by your act of generosity. May the Lord continue to bless all the family members of yours
As you can see that we already purchase the Kubota generator, we are working with a local company that has expertise in solar panel system to help us install the solar system within this month of February through March. We cannot wait to witness the different ways that God will use this whole system within the Health Center for His Glory.
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
