December 2021 Ministry Update

Dear Mission Friends and Supporters,
As you already know, every three months we try our best to connect with all of you that have been joining God and our family in the ministry journey that God has called all of us together in Haiti. We are delighted to have this opportunity to update you all on what is happening in the country of Haiti particularly with the community of La Victoire.
First of all, we want to thank all of you that have texted, called and sent an email to reach out to us when you heard the news regarding the 17 missionaries that have been kidnapped in the capital city, Port-au-Prince. We have been in prayers for all of the missionaries and the family members that have been impacted by such tragedy.

A great number of you have asked if we know the ministry in Haiti that was affected by the kidnapping situation? Our response is: No, we don’t know the ministry that these missionaries were working with. And we are sorry that we don’t have all the answers regarding this situation.

They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the Lord to care for them. Psalm 112:7 NLT

Current Situation in Haiti

One thing we can tell you is that, Haiti - specially Port-au-Prince - hasn’t been at its best. There is a lot of protesting that is happening in Port-au-Prince, and it has been that way for some times. We have a gas shortage crisis that affects the whole country where transportation becomes impossible for anyone to move around. Food insecurity, economic crisis, and insecurity in and of itself are the different forms of struggles that the whole country is confronting in this moment. Everyone in Haiti, Family members, children and youth are very tired of the lake of leadership that our beautiful country is encountering in this moment. This month a great number of the national institution as Schools, banks, hospitals have forced to remain open only 3 days per week because of the gas shortage that is affecting everyone living in the country.

Gas shortages are a huge problem in Haiti right now.

But God is Present with SAI in La Victoire

Despite all of these different struggles that the nation encounters, we can see the light of Jesus, the presence of God within our community. Our ministry in La Victoire continue to be a source of encouragement for the different communities where we serve. Our schools continue to open every day where we continue to educate the children and the youths of our community. Our churches continue to be sanctuaries where people can come, study the word of God, be in prayer as well for their country. Despite all that is happening God continues to provide for His children, God continues to use all of us for His Glory.
One of the things I have learned lately in our Haitian culture is that: you can take anything from us Haitians but you cannot take our joy, our faith in Jesus, our kindness, our strength and I know for sure that strength that we have is truly from Christ. Despite the food insecurity, the economic crisis, gas shortage, the people of Haiti continue to fight for their families with joy. We continue to trust God because we believe that He is still in control. We continue to live a life that reflects the love of Christ by serving each other when we have an opportunity to do so. Even in the time of Jesus, big cities were always a problem. I believe maybe that’s why Jesus didn’t like to go to big cities. There was always political crisis, corruption in those cities.

Your Sacrificial Giving is Having an Impact

Because you guys have sacrificially given to our ministry, we have accomplished so much for Christ kingdom in Haiti this year:
  • Our Medical Clinic facility is finally done and we are preparing the big opening during the end of the year
  • Because of your generosity, more than 2,000 families that were impacted by the earthquake disaster have received food, clean water, funding for small business, clothes and shoes
  • 80 families have received Goat and training on animal production so that they can be able to take very good care of their families
  • Our Micro-Loans program continues to grow stronger within our community

The medical clinic is nearing completion - this will be one of the future treatment rooms.

Microlending supports women business opportunities, such as selling crops to area families.

Help Us Finish Construction of High School

In January 2022, we will begin the construction of a new site within the Lospinite community which will host our High Schoolers, our trade school and our New Church plant in the Lospinite Community. Please help us finish the year 2021 strong by giving into our ministry which has desperate need so that we can continue our ministry journey in Haiti.

Our Hope Farm produces seeds for future crops.

Our Goats program provides free goats to area families so they have a sustainable source of nutritious milk.

Prayer Requests

We believe in the power of prayer and ask you to pray for these specific things.
  • For the 17 missionaries that were kidnapped, we pray for a peaceful resolution to this crisis.
  • Please continue to pray for our family and all the ministry staff's safety and our ministry partners that have been a part of what God is doing in Haiti.
  • The country of Haiti and its people because it has truly been a hard year.

Please Continue to Support Our Ministry

Your support over the last 10 years has been amazing. So much has been accomplished and everything has brought glory to God in the La Victoire community that did not know Him before. We are so thankful for that.
There are two ways you can continue to support us:
  • Directly to SAI through our Donation Page
  • Through Covenant Church: The link to our donation page is HERE.
May God bless all of you as we head into the Advent Season and the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
